Welcome to St. Edith’s Church

St Edith’s, Coates-by-Stow in Lincolnshire, is a tiny church hidden amongst trees a short distance from the main road and Stow. It has many special features including a Norman doorway and font, a stunning rood screen with loft and a majestic tower arch.

Almost every century has made a distinctive contribution to the structure, a testimony to the many people whose spiritual home it has been. Amazingly it escaped the ravages of the Reformation and rebellion, aided, no doubt by the moated situation.

The Church is an architectural gem, an oasis of peace and serenity located in the midst of a busy, working farm.

The hidden beauty of St Edith’s has remained unchanged; a Pre-Reformation church
